AHD stands for Analog High Definition. AHD is an analog closed-circuit television video surveillance standard of high definition 720P video which allows the camera to send an HD signal over a standard coax or RCA cable.
The AHD video signal is driven by a cable line driver with pre emphasis in the high frequency range (6MHz-45MHz) to compensate for nonlinear cable loss. This improves the signal-to-noise ratio over the long transmission path and the associated considerable attenuation.
